ABB IRB 120 product introduction
ABB IRB 120 has the following features: compact and lightweight, versatile, easy to integrate, optimized working range, matched with IRC5 compact controller, and reduced footprint. The following is a detailed introduction for everyone.
1. Compact and lightweight: As ABB's current smallest robot, the IRB 120 condenses all the functions and technologies of the ABB product series in a compact space. The weight is reduced to only 25kg, the structure is compact, and it can be installed almost anywhere, such as inside the workstation, above the mechanical equipment, or near other robots on the production line.
2. Wide range of uses: IRB 120 is widely used in electronics, food and beverage, machinery, solar energy, pharmaceuticals, medical, research and other fields, further enhancing the strength of ABB's new fourth-generation industrial robot family.
The clean room ISO Class 5 model with white coating is suitable for high-standard clean production environment, opening up a new application field.
This 6-axis robot has a maximum load of 3kg (4kg when the wrist (five-axis) is vertically downward) and a working range of 580mm. It can perform a series of tasks through a flexible (non-rigid) automation solution. IRB 120 is the perfect choice to realize cost-effective production, and its advantages are particularly obvious in a limited production space.
3. Easy to integrate: IRB 120 weighs only 25kg, and its excellent portability and integration make it a leader in its class. The installation angle of the robot is not subject to any restriction. The surface of the fuselage is smooth and easy to clean; the air pipes and user signal cables are all embedded in the fuselage from the feet to the wrist, which is easy for robot integration.
4. Optimize working range: In addition to the horizontal working range of 580mm, IRB 120 also has a first-class working stroke, and the pick-up distance under the base is 112mm. The IRB 120 adopts a symmetrical structure, the second axis has no convexity, and the radius of gyration is extremely small. It can be installed close to other equipment. The slim wrist further enhances the accessibility of the arm.
Fast, precise, and agile: IRB 120 is equipped with a lightweight aluminum alloy motor, which is lightweight and powerful. It can achieve high acceleration of the robot, ensuring excellent accuracy and agility in any application.
5. IRC5 compact controller: the best "partner" for small robots
ABB's newly launched compact controller highly condenses the top functions of IRC5, and introduces the precision and motion control of previous large equipment into a wider application space.
In addition to saving space, the new controller also simplifies the debugging steps by setting up single-phase power input, external signal connectors (all signals) and a built-in expandable 16-channel I/O system.
Offline programming software RobotStudio can be used to simulate the production workstation to set the best position for the robot; it can also perform off-line programming to avoid costly production interruptions or delays.
6. Reduced footprint: The perfect combination of the compact and lightweight IRB 120 robot and the IRC5 compact controller, the two new products, significantly reduces the footprint and is suitable for applications with tight space.
